By bringing storytelling and creative technology together, we create immersive and interactive project experiences that better communicate the vision of major infrastructure and built environment projects
of construction projects run over schedule.
Zutari, a South African engineering consultancy, is using Unity’s real-time 3D development platform to automate large-scale solar photovoltaics (PV) projects to reduce the time required to develop design-level insights and decrease costs.
Robert Bird Group sought to create an interactive virtual environment that enables project stakeholders to experience, interact with, and collaborate on built assets that are either completed or under construction.
Utilizing Unity Reflect Develop, the team is able to import models into the Unity Editor to build 4D construction sequencing into their Sydney Harbour development project. Clients can preview construction timelines, see how a building will alter the surrounding area, and explore projects in VR.
Rework costs the construction industry $450 billion per year. Unity’s construction solutions enhance VDC workflows, helping teams avoid rework in the field by visualizing designs in real-time for precise installation.

Learn how DPR Construction uses Unity’s VisualLive to quickly identify issues and instantly communicate them to the design team to minimize costly rework.
DPR Construction
—Brian Pemberton, Vice President of Virtual Design and Constriction at Nox Innovations
While using Hololens and VisualLive we’ve seen a 21% increase in productivity from daily goals, a 14% reduction in fabrication errors making it to the field, and an 84% increase in change order approvals.

Nox Innovations provides project planning, material handling, and BIM modeling services to contractors and vendors, helping to streamline construction workflows and reduce labor and material costs. Nox leverages Unity VisualLive to validate designs before they are pushed to fabrication.
—Josh Engelbrecht, Regional Field Engineer at DPR Construction
I believe the biggest benefit to using VisualLive is in the field. The models that the VDC team creates in the office are generated in collaboration with the subcontractors and design teams and can now be expanded to the field.
At DPR, using VisualLive in conjunction with the HoloLens allows workers to experience BIM models virtually on the job site, where they can quickly identify issues and instantly communicate them to the design team to minimize costly rework down the line.
Unity empowers organizations with a connected solution to reveal and access real-time data by leveraging existing enterprise ecosystems. See assets come to life when combined with right-time IoT data and take advantage of real-time updates of operating status and enterprise data within the 3D context of your site or facility.

Sitowise
—Florian Couret, Head of Immersive Lab at BNP Paribas Real Estate
WIRED is a pioneering digital twin technology combining convenience with experience and analysis. Its strength lies in allowing the user to be immersed in a city, its neighbourhoods and its buildings. It provides access to the best real estate, socio-economic and environmental information, thanks to exceptional data quality. Its flexibility allows for the sharing of targeted, prospective analysis, reaching markets without being constrained by location or time.

With the ongoing aim of supporting clients with their real estate strategies, BNP Paribas Real Estate developed a new data visualization tool, WIRED (Wearable Immersive Real Estate Dataroom). Combining data visualization and 3D ability, WIRED provides an interactive map of Europe, which can be used to assess certain areas and geographies in a more in-depth manner.

Before, I was working with various open-source real-time graphics engines for visualization. There was also some geographic information system (GIS) work involved, so it wasn’t just pretty graphics, but there were too many steps. Then Unity changed the game and made real-time 3D a serious contender for the AEC industry. Now we use Unity on a weekly and even daily basis for projects that utilize real-time 3D, AR, or VR.
